Sedona, AZ Poster
The goal of this project was to create a poster advertising an interesting place in Arizona. I have always loved visiting Sedona so I decided to show one of the many activities available upon visiting. The assignment included research, thumbnails, roughs, and a final poster.
Client: Student Project
Role: Production artist
Size: 18 x 24 in
Physical artwork made with poster paper, pen, graphite, and watercolor.
Final Poster
My final poster shows radiation, value, shape, balance, and more. I wanted to use different shades of paper to create the rock color and create contrast. I also used multiple materials listed above to complete the piece.
Research
For research, I was instructed to take multiple photos, overheard conversations, ephemera, and sketches while visiting Sedona, Arizona.
Thumbnails & Roughs
After compiling my research, I sketched out forty-two poster designs to show composition. I chose the best four and iterated them as roughs. For my final design I decided to go with my first rough representing the Jeep tours in Sedona.
